Ocean Voyager International and Sea Leisure Yachting Group recently welcomed a delegation from TUI to our Welipatanwila Boat Yard. During this visit, our team welcomed Linda Phelps, Head of Service and Operations (Canaries, Cape Verde, Portugal, West and East Africa, Indian Ocean, Operations and Delivery), and Jerome Wijeratne, Team Manager for TUI Musement Sri Lanka, accompanied by their team members.
The purpose of the visit was straightforward: to review progress on TUI’s current production order, align on key operational requirements, and ensure the build continues to match the standards expected for premium hospitality experiences. Site visits like these are a valuable part of our process. They allow for direct technical discussions, transparent follow-up on timelines, and practical decisions that strengthen outcomes for both sides.
This visit also reflects a partnership built over time. After several successful years of collaboration, Ocean Voyager and SLYG are pleased to continue working with TUI on the next phase of projects. The recent delivery of SODADE II in Cabo Verde further strengthened this relationship and reaffirmed a shared focus on quality, reliability, and long term operational performance.
While each project has its own spirit and specifications, our approach remains consistent and alligned with TUI’s attempts : designing and building vessels that support real-world operations with systems aligned to the needs of professionals and their guests.
We would like to thank Linda Phelps, Jerome Wijeratne, and the TUI team for taking the time to visit Welipatanwila and for the continued trust. We look forward to the next milestones of this collaboration and to supporting the development of premium nautical hospitality across the Indian Ocean and beyond.
